So...here is a retirement cake I made for my hubby (Mat) to take to work for one of his guys who is retiring. Obviously the guy likes hunting :) ...so here we have my interpretation of a "hound dog" (lol - its a dog....and that's what really matters in the "hunting scene" I am trying to portray here right?), a moose jumping out of the cake (or a reindeer, or antelope) and a top heavy man. He had a super big head and was leaning a bit. Oh well, this was my very first time making a "person" out of fondant. SOooo not bad for my first time! I sent the cake in with a sign that said "Happy Retirement Tom" that was held up by two wooden kabob skewers...however it looks like it didn't make it onto the cake for this pic. I really have to get better at taking my own pics of my cakes! :/
I will post some pics of the figurines in a minute...just trying to figure out what I'm doing here...

For this cake I tried to incorporate animals that he is familiar with. I imagine my friends were expecting a three layered cake with lots of fun things going on...well that will be next year guys!
Anyway, I was happy with it and I am sure if Jack could talk I imagine he would say so himself! :)
